Mobilisation

Community mobilisation

Getting a neighbourhood to act together is slower than posting about it and considerably more effective. This is the programme that makes the others possible.

Why we knock on doors / 01

Why we knock on doors

A post reaches the people already following you. A doorstep reaches the household that actually floods. The overlap between those two groups is smaller than it looks from inside a timeline, which is why door-to-door remains the backbone of the work rather than a supplement to it.

X Spaces / 02

X Spaces

The online side is not a replacement for the doorstep — it is where the conversation carries past Langata. Hosted Spaces on flood preparedness put residents, volunteers and partner organisations in the same room without anyone needing transport money to attend.

Who backs it / 03

Who backs it

Kenya Red Cross and Nairobi County both work alongside this programme. That matters less for funding than for standing: it is the difference between a group of young people with an idea and a group of young people with a mandate.
