1. Agreeing to these terms
By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. Nothing here affects your rights under Kenyan consumer or data protection law, which we cannot sign away and are not trying to.
2. About us
This site is operated by Youth's Corner, a youth-led non-governmental organisation based in Langata, Nairobi, Kenya. You can reach us at info@youthscorner.org.
3. Acceptable use
You may use this site for lawful purposes. You may not:
- use it in any way that breaks Kenyan law or the law where you are;
- submit anything unlawful, defamatory, harassing, obscene or deliberately misleading;
- impersonate anyone, or register for an event using someone else's details without their agreement;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its systems or its data;
- probe, scan or test the site's security without our written permission;
- introduce malware, or anything designed to interfere with the site's operation;
- scrape, harvest or systematically extract content or contact details from the site;
- use automated means to submit forms, or otherwise flood the site with requests;
- resell or commercially exploit the site or its content without our agreement.
We may suspend or withdraw access if you breach this section. Where a breach is also a criminal offence — the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act 2018 covers unauthorised access — we may report it.
Security researchers: if you find a vulnerability, tell us at info@youthscorner.org before disclosing it. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine issue in good faith, gives us reasonable time to fix it, and does not access or damage other people's data.
4. Accounts
Accounts in our content management system are issued to our staff and volunteers, not to the public. If you hold one:
- keep your password to yourself and do not share the account;
- change any temporary password the first time you sign in — the system will require this;
- tell us immediately if you think someone else has got into your account.
We may suspend or close an account that is misused, dormant, or no longer needed because someone has left the organisation.
5. What you send us
When you send us an enquiry, a registration or a message, you confirm the details are accurate and that you are entitled to give us any third-party details you include. We handle everything you send in line with our Privacy Policy.
Please do not send us confidential information, or sensitive personal data such as health or financial details, through the forms on this site. They are not built for it.
6. Intellectual property
The content of this site — text, photographs, graphics, logos, layout and code — belongs to Youth's Corner or to the people who licensed it to us, and is protected by the Copyright Act 2001 and international copyright law.
You may:
- read, print and share pages for your own non-commercial use;
- quote from the site with clear attribution and a link back;
- link to any page on this site, provided you do so fairly and without implying an endorsement we have not given.
You may not, without our written permission:
- republish, sell or sub-licence our content;
- use our name, logo or photographs to suggest a partnership or endorsement that does not exist;
- alter photographs of our volunteers or the communities we work in, or use them out of context.
Partner marks — including those of Kenya Red Cross and Nairobi County — belong to their respective owners and appear here to show who we work alongside, not to transfer any rights in them.
7. Member services
The services listed on this site are offered by individual members of Youth's Corner. We introduce you to a member and help arrange the work; the agreement for the work itself is between you and that member.
- Submitting an enquiry is not a booking, and a quote is not a contract.
- Prices are quoted per job and confirmed before work starts.
- We are not liable for the acts, omissions or workmanship of an individual member, though we do want to hear if something has gone wrong, and we will help sort it out.
8. Events and volunteering
Our events involve physical work outdoors — clearing drainage, lifting waste, planting. You take part voluntarily and at your own risk.
- Follow the briefing and any safety instructions given on the day.
- Tell the crew lead about anything relevant to your safety before you start.
- Participants under 18 should have a parent or guardian's agreement; under-13s should be accompanied.
- We may cancel or move an event — for weather, safety or anything else — and will tell registered participants as early as we can.
Nothing in this section excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence.
9. Links to other sites
Where we link to another organisation's site, that is for information. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Read their terms when you get there.
10. Availability
We try to keep the site available and accurate, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it — including any content or feature — without notice. Content is provided for general information and is not professional advice.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Youth's Corner is not liable for:
- indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss;
- loss of profit, revenue, data, goodwill or anticipated savings;
- loss arising from your reliance on information published on this site;
- loss caused by any interruption, error or unavailability of the site;
- loss caused by malware or other harmful material you encounter through the site, despite our precautions.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to KES 10,000 or the amount you have paid us in the preceding twelve months, whichever is greater.
What we do not exclude: nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded — including our obligations under the Data Protection Act 2019.
12. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or your use of this site, are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. The courts of Kenya have exclusive jurisdiction.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce a term straight away, that is not a waiver of it.
We may update these terms. The current version is 2026-09-01.1; material changes will be published on this page with a new version number.
